evening prayer (6/25/2017)

Sovereign Lord, thank You for the Holy Spirit. By Him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Thank You, that the Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are your children. And if we are your children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. Lord, may we consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. May we wait for it patiently. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
