evening prayer (5/28/2017)

Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit Who gives us discernment. May your Spirit help us watch out so that we are not deceived. For we know many will come in your Son’s name, claiming, “I am he,’ and, “The time is near.” May we not follow them. Whatever happens, may we not to be frightened and let us continue to bear testimony to You. Help us make up our minds not to worry beforehand how we will defend ourselves, for we know that You will give us words and wisdom that none of our adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. When we are betrayed, as many will be, when some are put to death, when everyone hates us because of You, help us to trust in your gracious promise: “But not a hair of your head will perish.”  Enable us to stand firm, knowing we will win life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
