evening prayer (5/20/2017)

Father, we praise You that when we ask for rain in the springtime, it is You who sends the thunderstorms. You give showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone. You are Lord Almighty who cares for His flock. Together we are like warriors in battle trampling our enemy. We fight because You are with us, and we put the enemy to shame. You restore us because You have compassion on us. You are the Lord our God and You answer us. We will become like warriors, and our hearts will be glad as with wine. Our children will see it and be joyful; their hearts will rejoice in You, O Lord. You will signal for them and gather them in. Surely, You will redeem them; and they will be as numerous as before. Though You scatter them among the peoples, yet in distant lands they will remember You. They and their children will survive, and they will return. You will bring them back and gather them… and there will not be room enough for them. Though they pass through the sea of trouble; by your power, the surging sea will be subdued. You will strengthen them and in your Name they will live securely. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
