evening prayer (1/19/2017)

Father, we are grateful that it was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore, help us to stand firm and not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.  We were called to freedom; so, with your help, may we not turn our freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For we know the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the one statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Help us, Lord to walk by the Spirit, and not carry out the desire of the flesh. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And if we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

A prayer based on Galatians 5 NASB
