morning prayer (12/5/2016)

Good morning Jesus. Lord, in this busy time of year, it’s easy to become so focused on getting all of the shopping and decorating done that we forget what the season is about. We walk through the malls and grocery stores and down the city streets and we don’t even notice each other…..we work hard not to look in each others eyes or to even acknowledge those around us. It’s as if we see people as trees. Dear Jesus, fill us with your Spirit and compassion. Give us a second touch so that we will see others as you see them. Give us ears to hear your voice and to reach out as you lead us. Help us to celebrate the season by lifting you up….that others might come to know you.

He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”   Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Mark 8:24,25
