evening prayer (6/1/2016)

Heavenly Father, we thank you for Your Word which tells us: “Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.” Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, may we clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Lord, teach us to bear with each other and forgive one another. And if any of us has a grievance against someone, help us to forgive them even as the Lord forgave us. And over all these virtues, may we put on love, which binds us all together in perfect unity.

May the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, since as members of one body we were called to peace. And help us to always be thankful. May we let the message of Christ dwell among us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in our hearts. And whatever we do, whether in word or deed, may we do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
